What this work is not

Said plainly, before anything else.

Clear limits protect you, and they protect the work. These are the ones that hold everywhere on this site and in every part of the year.

Therapy

Mastery Code is coaching and education under Board Certified Coach standards. Ruben holds a doctorate in psychology and is not a licensed psychologist or psychotherapist. If something in the year calls for a clinician, see a qualified professional where you live.

Diagnosis

Who Is Holding the Pen?, the Debrief and the Daimon name patterns worth considering. None of them diagnoses, gives a clinical assessment, assigns a developmental stage or labels you.

A promise of outcomes

Nothing here promises health, income or relationship results. The year describes what you measure and work on, read against your own baseline.

Medical, legal or financial advice

Health questions and targets go to your physician, nutrition to your physician or dietitian, and money and estate questions to the professionals you choose.

Psychedelics or plant medicine

They have no place in this program, in any form.

A crisis service

Nothing here can respond to an emergency, and the Daimon alerts no one. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 in the United States, or call your local emergency number.

An endorsement

Teachers whose work informs the Code are thanked in the book. None of them endorses this program.
