Course III · Months 7 to 9

Choose what deserves your life.

Judge whether the specification deserves your life. Three months of practice in Discernment, Coherence and Commitment, ending with the decision you have been deferring, made and on the record.

The course

From meeting the specification to judging it.

Achievement can prove that you know how to meet a specification. It cannot tell you whether the specification deserves your life. Most accomplished people have spent decades on the first question. The second half asks the second.

The third course asks for criteria written from center, then a calendar and a budget that agree with them. In Month 9, the decision you have been deferring gets made and put on the record.

Month 7 · Discernment

Trust what you know from center, and check it against what you wrote down.

The practice

The Daimon inquiry. Horizons written from legacy down: a life, a decade, a year, a quarter. A letter to yourself from twenty years ahead.

The weekly question

What did I know this week before I could explain it, and did I check it against my criteria?

Month 8 · Coherence

Let your calendar, your money and your word say the same thing.

The practice

The coherence audit. The first hour of the workday goes to what you chose. One signature strength, used in a new way each week. A working definition of enough.

The weekly question

Where did my calendar or my money disagree with what I say matters?

Month 9 · Commitment

What you do is what you chose.

The practice

Make the deferred decision. Set one hard goal with its turnaround criteria. Write criteria for money. Name the standing you have earned, and decide what it is for.

The weekly question

What did my actions decide this week, whatever I said?
