Course II · Months 4 to 6

Own what is yours.

Examine what you inherited, and keep your pen. Three months of practice in Belief, Understanding and Acceptance, until you can read your own record as it stands.

The course

What was handed to you, and what you answer for.

Some of what runs your life was installed before you could consent to it: beliefs about what you are worth, loyalties to a family’s way of surviving, limits that once kept you safe and now keep you small.

The second course separates what is yours to answer for from what was handed to you. It neither romanticizes the past nor excuses it. By the end of Month 6, you can read your own record as it stands, and you are still the one holding the pen.

Month 4 · Belief

What you believe shapes what you see. Examine it, then plan for the obstacle.

The practice

The immunity map: the hidden commitment that quietly works against a goal you care about. The belief check, applied to one setback. For one goal, the wish, the outcome, the obstacle inside you, and an if-then plan for meeting it.

The weekly question

What did I believe this week that shaped what I saw?

Month 5 · Understanding

Understand the limits that shaped everyone, yourself included, and let each person answer for what they did.

The practice

The lineage map: who turned you around, who taught you criteria, who showed you by example. A letter of thanks to one person on it. Self-compassion for the inner critic. A review of your closest relationships, and a forgiveness that excuses nothing.

The weekly question

Whom did I judge this week, myself included, and what would understanding without excusing look like?

Month 6 · Acceptance

Accept what is so, and keep your pen.

The practice

Read the midyear Ledger as it stands. Give one part of yourself that you set aside to succeed a place in the week. For many people, that part is enjoyment itself.

The weekly question

What did I keep fighting that was already so?
